Injection mold is a tool for producing plastic products; it is also a tool for giving plastic products complete structure and precise size. Injection molding is a processing method used in the mass production of some complex-shaped parts. Specifically, it refers to the injection of the heated and melted plastic into
the mold cavity by the injection molding machine under high pressure, and the molded product is obtained after being cooled and solidified.
Injection molds are divided into thermosetting plastic molds and thermoplastic plastic molds according to their molding characteristics;
According to the molding process, it is divided into transfer mold, blow mold, casting mold, thermoforming mold, hot compression mold (compression mold), injection mold, etc. Among them, the hot compression mold can be divided into overflow, half there are three types of overflow type and non-overflow type.
The injection mold can be divided into two types based on runners: cold runner mold and hot runner mold according to the gating system; according to the
loading and unloading method, it can be divided into two types: mobile type and fixed type.
Although the structure of the mold may vary due to the variety and performance
of plastics, the shape and structure of plastic products, and the type of injection machine, the basic structure is the same.
The mold is mainly composed of pouring system, temperature regulation system, forming parts and structural parts. Among them, the gating system and the molding parts are the parts that are in direct contact with the plastic, and
change with the plastic and the product. They are the parts of the mold that are complex, change greatly, and require high processing finish and precision.
The injection mold consists of a movable mold and a fixed mold. The movable mold is installed on the moving template of the injection molding machine, and the
fixed mold is installed on the fixed template of the injection molding machine. During injection molding, the movable mold and the fixed mold are closed to form a gating system and a cavity. When the mold is opened, the movable mold and the fixed mold are separated to take out the plastic product. In order to reduce the heavy workload of mold design and manufacturing, most of the injection molds use
standard mold bases.
